Thunder Bay Wedding show, 2013, The Camellia

The Thunder Bay Wedding Show  ..an explosion of colour, bling, glamour, exciting displays, a fashion show and so much more!! So excited to be part of this Show. Here's one of the lovely models from Luxe Boutique  standing in our booth!

Here at The Camellia, we specialise in the best quality faux-botanical bouquets, custom made for your special Day, like the Bouquet in the above photo. Looks real, and you get to keep it after as a centerpiece in your home. Some Brides like the idea of everything done ahead of time, which is impossible with fresh flowers. Colours like teal and turquoise are difficult to find in a fresh flower. And some are allergic to the pollen in fresh flowers... nothing glamourous about a sneezing, puffed-up Bride or Groom..

Wedding favours for the guys, hand -tied fishing lures  --fun and practical. Order on-line at www.yourperfectcatch.com

Burlap Runners, tablecloths, and drapes... here I stencilled the initials of the Bride & Groom. Think about the shape of your tables, the length of your tables, and ask us for a quote. Volume discounts may be available.  Burlap is HOT!!

These Roses are also faux, but don't they look real?

 Custom Wedding Invitations by Letterelle...https://www.facebook.com/letterelle
So many choices...

Our big white Camellias  made of.....hmmm...did you guess ......coffee filters. Lots of fun making these!

Rustic Romance --Burlap chair ties with organza sash overlay. We sell this ribbon in our store, the Camellia, so you can do your own chair ties.

 Custom Bridesmaid bouquet.

Groom's Boutonierre ...ask about our Boutonierre magnets..no more pinning.

Entrance decor by Perfect Parties, I think.

 Love the garden Lanterns..!

The creativity of the other booths    ---macaroons were spied at this Booth! Sugared Moments offers divine desserts for your Table. www.sugaredmoments.ca

Note the Vintage frame detail --- another huge trend in Wedding decor.

Winter Lake Superior Wedding, The Camellia

Lake Superior in all its Winter glory! Are you contemplating a Winter wedding? For some, this might be the only time that meshes with their work schedules, or you just love Winter and want to get married in the snow! Lake Superior  is the perfect backdrop for a Winter Wedding.

This would be my first choice, the gazebo at Leif Eriksom Park, on London Road, In Duluth, MN.Here's the link:http://www.goduluthmn.com/leif-erikson-park-and-duluth-rose-garden.html. What a pretty spot!

If the ceremony was in the evening, I would  light candles in large  wooden lanterns. try our Sweet Orange soy candles, the fragrance is uplifting.

No arguing with the fact that the snow provides a nice clean backdrop for photos, for the Bride I would choose a cream or sepia-toned gown, complete with a Fur cape and mittens. This is the view in our back 40, after a recent snowfall.

Pretty, isn't it?

Of course, in these winter temperatures, fresh flowers don't do so well. The ones in the above photo would most likely freeze. So what can you do?

You can order custom Faux botanical bouquets from us! They are custom designed to your colours and will last, and last!

Orange and Blue Wedding, The Camellia, Thunder Bay.

It's January, 2013!! A brand new Year! Getting married this year? Now's the time to scour blogs, Pinterest, Etsy, and other Wedding sites. Planning is everything...and January is the time to do it. Orange and blue are one of my favourite colour combinations.

The vases below contain Alstromeria, gerbera daisies, and Hydrangeas. White carnations could be substituted for the Hydrangeas.

Look at these wonderful dresses from BHLDN. Click on their link on the side of this blog to see other styles of Bridesmaid dresses. www.bhldn.com

Or take a look at David's Bridal.com, this sexy number is from David's Bridal.com  ( ever wonder why a Bridal salon is called David...? must be some story there!). www.davidsbridal.com

Look at the lines of these Calla lilies, paired with proteas and succulents.  And that tiny dash of red to ground the design!!  ( Photo courtesy of Oasis Floral).
