Why should I be the only 1 to change...why doesn't he/or she make some changes as well..?

Getting married or Moving in together? It will quickly become apparent that you have differing opinions on various issues, and in today's world, it seems like all the preliminary things that were traditionally done when one was contemplating marriage, are simply ignored. So many people may end up in a relationship where important questions were not asked. Important issues like Money, Jobs, Religion, Caretaking for infants, Household chores, grocery shopping, where to holiday, how much to spend on this... and the list goes on.

Every family has a different approach to Conflict Resolution. 

-There's the WHAT PROBLEM? THERE IS NO PROBLEM  ( Sweep under the Carpet and pretend it doesn't exist).
- Then there is the YES DEAR, WHATEVER YOU SAY,  DEAR. Total compliance, The same partner gets his or her way most of the time, until he or she becomes a bit of a dictator, a Hitler, it's their way or the Highway. And the more you give in to them, and don't question them, the more dictatorial they become.
- Then there is the CUT DOWN THE OTHER PERSON AND MAKE THEN FEEL INCOMPETENT, he or she attacks the very self-confidence of his or her partner.

And then there are EXPECTATIONS. Child development experts tell us these are formed early on in childhood, they can be formed by the media, TV, friends, and movies. 

The inevitable arguments start, and insults are swung back and forth. Families of each partner get drawn into the mess, and more words are exchanged. It's always a bit of a shuffle as new persons move into an existing Family circle. They all have to try and get along with each other. The whole process can be exhausting, and in some cases, can prove to be too much for some family members. The relationship can become so toxic that the parties involved decide to not try anymore, it's just not worth the effort.

A Lavender themed Wedding, The Camellia, Thunder Bay, Ontario

It can be difficult trying to figure out what colour your Wedding should be. You pore over images on Pinterest, get advice from all of your friends, and just get more confused and indecisive. You've set a Date and need to make some colour choices now! 

What about Lavender and Purple? Lavender goes together perfectly with grey suits, and there are many lavender & purple flowers to choose from. 

Here is a beautiful Lavender & Purple Bridal bouquet we designed for a Bride with faux flowers. 

Fresh Lavender Blooms in the Garden, only possible if your Wedding is around the same time that the Lavender plants are blooming. This is a possibility in Napa Valley, or in southern Ontario, or on Vancouver Island. Not in Thunder Bay. Here at The Camellia, we use dried Lavender to make Bouquets. 

There will be some Lavender buds falling because the bouquets are dried. Here is one of the Bridesmaid bouquets. 

And the Bride's Bouquet, with dried Lavender and faux roses. 

Here is another Wedding with Purple and Lavender Flowers, with a picked-from-the-field-Wildflower-look. Again, we used all faux flowers, yet these bouquets look fresh. Why use faux flowers? They can be designed ahead of time, will not wilt, will not freeze or die if it's too hot, and you can keep them as decor in your Home long after your Wedding day.

A February Lavender Wedding - in Thunder Bay.

Thunder Bay is blessed with lots of sunshine, and crisp,cold days in February. while some Brides opt for Destination Weddings  on a Caribbean beach, some brave the cold in Northwestern Ontario. How cold is cold? -37 with the Windchill, gasp...! This Wedding will take place at This Old Barn. 

Tying the knot in the dead of Winter poses a weather challenge for Flowers - if you use fresh flowers, and it's minus 30, they will freeze, and if white flowers were used, they will turn a dismal shade of brown. This Bride knew she wanted Lavender in all the bouquets, here at #TheCamellia we have farm Lavender grown on Vancouver Island. 

Boutonierres for the Boys, #Lavender with dogwood blossom, tied with jute. 

Lavender with Freesia for the Groom. 

Lavender bouquets for the Bridesmaids framed by blue twigs, and faux grasses. 

The Bride's bouquet with Lavender and foam Roses, with faux purple blossoms, tied with jute twine. The Bride wanted the look and feel of a bundle of  just gathered Wildflowers. 

A wee hairpiece for a 3 year old.
